My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU (Oregairu) Watch Order Guide

My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU (Oregairu) has a very rom-com title, but in reality, it’s more of philosophical anime. The social commentary made by the main character is pleasing, deep, and blunt, which would make you easily watch the show multiple times and still miss some of the points he makes. His harsh, twisted view of society gives Oregairu a unique charm, making it one of the best high school drama anime.

While the main character stands out, the side characters also have excellent writing to support their personalities. The creator of the series clearly wanted to make fun of the fairy tale rom-com situations and create something genuinely relatable to real youthful romance. If you are a fan of deadpan writing and humor with underlining seriousness, you should checkout Oregairu.

My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU (Oregairu) is a school drama anime series adapted from the light novel series of the same name, written by Wataru Watari and illustrated by Ponkan 8.

Synopsis: Hikigaya Hachiman is a loner who likes to criticize society whenever he gets a chance and has almost given up on typical high school life. Seeing Hikigaya’s twisted opinions, Shizuka Hiratsuka, his homeroom teacher, forces him to join the Volunteer Service Club. The club helps out anyone who needs help. She expects that helping others would change Hikigaya’s mind about people.

Yukino Yukinoshita, the sole member of the Volunteer Service Club, accepts Hikigaya as a new member. Still, due to the difference between their views, they both decide to take a different approach when helping others. Luckily, Yui Yuigahama, a classmate of Hikigaya, also joins the club and may become a neutral party, bringing Yukino and Hikigaya together for the club activities.
