Adachitoka launched the Noragami series as a manga series and later serialized the manga in Kodansha’s Monthly Shounen Magazine. Since then, the manga has been compiled into 25 volumes.

The first season of the anime, animated by studio Bones, aired on Tokyo MX, MBS, BS11, and TVA from January 5 to March 23, 2014. The anime’s second season, also animated by Bones, aired from October 3 to December 26, 2015.

Kodansha began publishing the series in English in 2014 with this synopsis: Yato is a homeless god. He doesn’t even have followers, let alone a shrine! He has therefore established a service to assist those in need (for a small fee) in order to accomplish his lofty goals, with the hope that he will eventually raise enough money to build the lavish temple of his dreams for himself. Of course, he can’t afford to be picky, so Yato takes on any job, from helping a student overcome school bullies to finding lost kittens.
