xxxHOLiC could have been a great show if it didn’t use the weird character designs with absurdly long legs. But if ignoring the art, xxxHOLiC is a clever, dark, and interesting anime that combines fun and adventure with an aura of seriousness around every episode. The anime revolves around spirits and supernatural forces that affect human behavior and social phenomena. But the anime is not always grave. It also has a bit of slice of life and comedy going throughout the episodes. The main female character, Yuuko, has a stylish feel and feverish charm about her that would make you fall for her.
The plot of xxxHOLiC is mostly episodic, with few progressing storylines that involve the main characters. The anime also has one of the best conversations between characters with loads of intriguing and amazing dialogues, making it feel like the viewers are involved in the characters’ problems. As I mentioned, character art is the one thing that is holding back xxxHOLiC, but if you have watched other shows that use CLAMP’s art style like Code Geass or Blood-C, you might get used to it quickly, so I recommend giving xxxHOLiC a shot.

Synopsis: Kimihiro Watanuki can see evil spirits who are also strangely drawn to him. One day while still trying to flee from some evil spirit, he comes across a strange house.
