Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World is a show for people who like feeling anxiety, depression, and cringe at the same time. I am not criticizing the anime. It is a cinematic masterpiece with an unforgettable story. But I expected a simple sweet romcom, but the show took a u-turn and kept looping like a nightmare, putting me into a limbo between sadness and happiness.
Re:Zero is a psychological trap that lures unexpected fans but luckily shows its true colors in the first episode. Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World is an isekai time travel anime series adapted from the light novel series of the same name, written by Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrated by Shinichirou Ootsuka.
Synopsis: Subaru Natsuki was returning from a convenience store. After walking a few steps, he suddenly found himself in the middle of a bustling market side road inhabited by humans and demi-humans. Being an anime fan, Subaru concludes that he has been transported to a new world and accepts that resolution.
While taking a stroll through the new world, Subaru bumps into a group of thugs. Luckily a white-haired girl saves him. In return, Subaru offers to help find something the girl has lost. They both end up at a shop holding the lost item, but both got brutally murdered out of nowhere. Subaru wakes up and again finds himself on the same bustling market side road.
