Natsume Yuujinchou (Natsume’s Book of Friends) is a supernatural slice of life anime series adapted from the manga series of the same name written and drawn by Yuki Midorikawa.
Synopsis: Takashi Natsume is an orphan who only wants an everyday life, but just like his grandmother Reiko, he can see spirits which only causes problems for him. He had to move and live with different relatives because of his ability. When he moved to live in the countryside place where his grandmother used to live, he discovered the Book of Friends that belonged to Reiko.
The Book of Friends holds names of spirits in contract with Reiko. With Reiko’s passing, the spirits want their name back. Natsume agrees to return the names, but some spirits harbor hostile and malicious intents towards Natsume because of Reiko. Thankfully, Madara, a spirit, decides to become Natsume’s guardian with his own very vague motives.
